What is the Potato Hug?

All students at AFSA are members of the FFA. Our FFA Chapter is one of the largest chapters in the state of Minnesota. The FFA is the largest youth-led organization in the United States with 600,000+ members. The FFA provides a path to achievement in premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

The Potato Hug started in 2013 as a way for students to showcase their FFA Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects. Students design an entrepreneurial experience, research project, exploratory project, internship, or service type activity. Each project is an opportunity for students to demonstrate professionalism, develop entrepreneurial skills, and showcase their hard work.

Not only does the Potato Hug benefit our students by creating an event for their SAE’s but it also creates an opportunity for collaboration between ag related businesses and student vendors. These business mentors have empowered our students toward greater projects and entrepreneurialism. We would like to invite you to join us to shop or with your sponsorship.
