  • There are many different ways to get involved at AFSA K-12! AFSA families are invited to help with the following:

    Career Day Speaker—Come and speak to the students about your specific career on Career Day! Daytime commitment.

    Classroom Speakers—Love to share your expertise? Come in and talk with the students about life experiences. Daytime commitment.

    Science Fair Judges—Have a background in science, business, or liberal arts? All of these areas are helpful in judging all aspects of the students science fair projects. This would be an evening commitment in January 2021 would like more information please go to Science Fair Judges. . 

    Parent/Teacher Conference Meals—Love to cook? Three times a year the teachers hold conferences. Since these are long days for the staff we like to provide meals. We are looking for families to donate meals or donate time to help set up meals. Daytime or drop off commitment.

    Elementary Teacher Helper— The elementary teachers will be needing help with various projects throughout the year. These may be projects at school or something that can be done outside of school.

    Donate Item from Staff Wish List—Check out the Staff Wish List on the AFSA website.

    Donate Box Tops—No need to clip Box Tops! Download the Box Tops for Education App and scan your receipt! Please make sure to chose AFSA High School for your Box Top earnings to go toward.

    Potato Hug—The Potato Hug happens the first Saturday in October. This is a great event to come and see all of the amazing projects the students work on. We are looking for help in the kitchen the day of and with food prep the week of. Evening or daytime commitment. For more information click on the Potato Hug link above.

    Pioneer Foundation Volunteers—This is a great way AFSA families to raise funds without selling products. Through the Pioneer Foundation families may sign up to volunteer to help at concessions at a variety of stadiums in the area. For more information please go to www.pioneerfoundation.weebly.com

    Culver’s Fundraising Nights— Throughout the year the AFSA FFA Alumni holds Culver’s Fundraising Nights at the Culver’s on Rice Street in Little Canada. This is an evening commitment. Volunteers will be serving food to customers and running food to drive through. Students who volunteer for some Culver's nights are able to earn AFSA Bucks. Watch for dates for 2021-2022.

    Summer Events— AFSA participates in many summer activities such as parades and festivals. Watch for volunteer information in May 2022!

    AFSA Bucks: For some student volunteer opportunities (Culver's Nights) students are able to earn AFSA Bucks. Students can use AFS-A Bucks to pay towards a variety of school fees (ex. O-term and J-term). Once a student has volunteered they simply write on the activity form that they are using AFSA Bucks to pay or go towards the activity. Please contact stephanieforliti@afsahighschool.com with any questions regarding AFSA Bucks. 

    If you are interested in volunteering please fill out the Volunteer Application and the Background Check Form. Please return the forms and a check for $8.00 made out to the "MN BCA" to either the high school or middle school office. The school will submit the back ground check. You do not need to include a self-addressed stamped envelope.
