I always knew I wanted to help students, ever since I was in High School, I just didn't think this is how I'd be doing it! I've been with AFSA for a few years now, and I love the small setting because it gives me a chance to get to know all of the kids here, even if I can't see them every day. Every student deserves a chance to be heard and acknowledged, something not every school can achieve, and I love being able to help any kid understand that High School isn't the end, it's very much so a beginning. I must be a workaholic, because when I'm not here I also work at a game store cafe most evenings. When I'm not working, I try to find time to hang out with my family, play nerd games, and find time to go back to college!

Angie Bergerson
High School Front Desk
Hi, I'm Angie and I work in the front office at the high school. I love getting to know the students and staff who come through the office every day. It's one of the best parts of my job! My husband and I are high school sweethearts and together we have three wonderful children. One has already graduated from AFSA and we currently have a student in each building, which keeps life busy and fun. I graduated from St. Paul college with a degree in early childhood education. I absolutely love being a part of a school community that supports and inspires students!

This is my sixth year working in special education and my fourth year at AFSA. I previously worked at an alternative school in St. Cloud, MN. I graduated from Saint Cloud Technical and Community College in 2019 with an associate's degree in Child and Adult Care and Education and from Grand Canyon University with a bachelor's degree in Psychology in April of 2025. I am currently enrolled in a masters program for School Counseling. I grew up in the Como Park area and outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading and watching football and hockey (SKOL Vikes!).
