I am so excited for this next year at AFSA! I was an avid FFA member in high school and enjoyed the subjects of science and agriculture. My 2 dogs and I had been AZ residents for 18 years, but are excited to be back in MN closer to my family. I like to hike, kayak, and barn hunt with my two little dogs. When the weather is colder you will find me with a good book, sewing or crafting. I have my Early Childhood Degree from UW-Stout and my masters in Reading Language Arts from Walden University. My philosophy of education is that all children are unique and must have a creative and safe environment where they can grow emotionally, physically, mentally and socially. I want my students to have a worldly perspective and the drive to be lifelong learners. I will encourage my students to accept themselves for who they are, as well as embrace the differences of others. Teaching is my passion and my purpose. The best day is giving them a hug on their high school graduation day and finding out what their next steps are. It reminds you that you never know who you have in your classroom. You could have a nurse, business professional, lawyer, scientist, computer programmer, farmer, welder or blogger. It makes me proud that I am a teacher and that I help spark the next generations’ ideas.
