Educational Assistants
Paraprofessional/Educational Assistant (with 60 college credits or Associate's Degree)
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities
- Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials or skills initially introduced by teachers.
- Assists the teachers in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on an empathetic understanding of individual students, their needs, interests and abilities.
- Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher.
- Assists with the supervision of students during classes, project time, assemblies, field trips, meetings, lunchtime, and before and after school.
- Participate in in-service trainings as requested.
- Assist in maintaining daily progress records for students.
- Other duties as assigned.
No nights or weekends. School year position, summers off.
Salary range at AFSA is $19.00 to $22.00 depending on qualifications and experience
